Sumiran Eco Park & Resort: Our Review of Sarawak’s Best Glamping Getaway

Just some 10 minutes from Batu Kawa Bridge, perhaps about 30 minutes from the Kuching International Airport.

Located just beside the Sarawak River, lower of Siniawan Cowboy Town.

Glamping @ Sumiran

If you’re looking for a refreshing escape that combines the tranquillity of nature with the comfort of modern amenities, look no further than Sumiran Eco Park & Resort. Located conveniently near Kuching, this destination is fast becoming the top spot for families, friends, and corporate groups seeking a memorable retreat.

We recently had the pleasure of spending one night here, and we can confidently say this Eco Park offers a unique and well-rounded experience. There are several choices of activities you can do there if you are just in a small group of 2 or 3 people. However, in a larger group, you will normally have an organised plan.

Unique Stay: The Iconic ‘A’ Frame Glamping Cabin

One of the highlights of a trip to Sumiran is the accommodation. Forget traditional hotels—here, you get to experience luxury glamping in their distinctive, charming A” A-shaped structures.

Glamping @ Sumiran

We loved the cosy, yet spacious feel of the tent. It’s the perfect base camp for adventure, providing a comfortable bed and shelter while still keeping you connected to the outdoors. Waking up to the sounds of nature after a night under the stars (and inside a comfortable, climate-controlled A-frame!) truly made the experience special. It’s the ideal way to “camp” without sacrificing comfort.

More Than Just a Stay: Facilities for Every Group

Sumiran Eco Park & Resort shines when it comes to group activities and facilities. The beautiful, well-maintained grounds (perfect for those sunset photos!) are designed to accommodate large groups and diverse needs:

  • Family Gatherings & Retreats: With ample green space and various recreational spots, this is an easy place to organise a multi-family trip. Kids have plenty of room to roam and explore safely. BBQ sets are ready for those who love BBQ.
  • Corporate Outward Bound & Team Building: If your company is looking for a venue for team-building or an outward-bound program, Sumiran’s layout and facilities are ideal. There’s space for large-scale activities and plenty of quiet corners for small-group reflection.
  • Eco-Attractions: Beyond the resort amenities, the “Eco Park” lives up to its name. We were delighted to discover unique wildlife—we even spotted a lively otter during our visit! This adds a fun, educational element to the stay that you won’t find in a standard resort. Besides the otter, you may see some chickens and ducks running around.

The Vibe: Good Location, Great Service

The location is convenient enough to be easily accessible but far enough to feel like a genuine break from the city hustle. The entire park maintains a clean, well-cared-for aesthetic, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere.

From check-in to check-out, we found the staff to be attentive and the overall facilities to be top-notch, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Our Verdict

Sumiran Eco Park & Resort successfully blends eco-tourism with comfortable leisure. Whether you are a local family planning a quick weekend escape or a corporate team seeking a productive and fun training venue, this place delivers excellent value.

If you’re looking for a unique glamping experience in Sarawak that offers great facilities and a truly memorable stay, we highly recommend checking out Sumiran Eco Park & Resort!
